Now hiring Catering Attendants to deliver and serve food at scheduled functions. This position includes cleaning the event area, break down/set-up, and returning leftover food & equipment to the facility.

Position Summary:

Under close supervision a Catering Attendant delivers and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Captain. Employees in this job class must ensure the accurate execution of all events during his/her shift. The attendant sets-up functions, serves at functions, cleans event area during and after the event, breaks down the set-up, leaves the area neat and clean, returns tables to their proper position, and returns equipment and any leftover food to the catering facility in a timely manner. They also assist other associates if free time allows, and respond to staffing/customer needs quickly, efficiently, professionally and with a sense of urgency. The Catering Assistant job class requires employees to have a valid driver’s license as they may be asked to drive a catering delivery truck.

Typical Duties:

  • Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.

  • Logs and maintains food temperatures.

  • Arranges tables and decorations.

  • Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to established standards.

  • Serve food and beverages to guests.

  • Thoroughly clean event location after event is completed, including trash.

  • Returns food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to the catering facility.

  • Distributes and collects customer comment cards for catered functions.

  • Stocks, cleans, and maintains the catering facility and equipment. 

  • Ensure all guests always receive friendly and courteous service.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.

  • Always follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures.

  • Must be willingly to communicate clearly, professionally, and politely with customers as well as other staff members.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Prior experience in food service and catering services preferred.

Certificates Required:

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

  • Food Handler’s Permit.
  • Alcohol Servers Permit.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel items, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include those required to drive a motor vehicle such as close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
