Position Summary:
Under close supervision employees perform a variety of functions to assure facilities are clean and free of safety hazards. This job class requires knowledge of custodial practices and the ability to complete daily tasks. Employees may be required to work in confined spaces and in aseptic areas with exposure to dirt, dust, odors, chemicals, and infectious disease; and may work in high-security areas with protocols. Employees may also be exposed to, depending on the weather, elements such as wind, rain, cold, and heat.

Pay Range:
$15.75 – 18.03 per hour depending on contract/worksite
Typical Duties:
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture following safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors and stairwells.
Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers, biohazard waste bins, and cigarette urns.
Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
Assist with the setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, and use them as directed.
Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to learn specialized methods of cleaning and utilize a wide array of cleaning/sanitizing chemicals.
Ability to safely operate custodial equipment (vacuum, backpack vacuum, cardboard bailer).
Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions/requests from team, customer, or others.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to display effective customer service skills.
Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team.
