Position Summary:

We seek a Director of Philanthropy to lead our fundraising and development efforts so that we may scale our current programs and launch new innovations in the industry. The successful candidate will connect with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and community organizations to inspire meaningful support with the ambitious goal of doubling all donations within the next two years. As a key collaborator, you will work across various departments to magnify our mission’s impact. You will be responsible for developing engaging campaigns that capture the attention of diverse audiences and extend our outreach. The Director of Philanthropy will have the support of the Marketing team for campaign development. The role will report to the Chief Growth Officer. Typical Duties:

  • Work with the Chief Growth Officer to develop strategic direction and vision for The Foundation initiatives that align with the corporate strategies and objectives;
  • Track and analyze fundraising performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement;
  • Lead CRM/database management, ensuring accurate donor records and reporting, with the support of departmental analyst;
  • Collaborate with finance to manage revenue forecasting, reporting, and budget planning;
  • Work closely with the marketing team to execute operational strategies aimed at increasing the pool of prospective donors for major and annual campaigns, sponsorships, and foundation gifts;
  • Reach out to donors and funders for personal meetings, craft solicitation proposals, organize cultivation events, and actively solicit donations;
  • Represent PRIDE Industries at public events and community gatherings to enhance organizational reputation and visibility, including some weekend and evening events;
  • Engage board members in donor cultivation efforts and fundraising activities;
  • Provide leadership and follow best practices for gift acceptance policies and procedures, including the introduction and facilitation of new gift opportunities;
  • Plan and execute donor-centric events, including an upcoming 60-year celebration, lead facility tours;
  • Draft and present donor communications, presentations, and case statements for support;
  • Model the organization’s core values and promote inclusion principles;
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years in a nonprofit/higher education environment, with at least three years in a leadership role; additional experience in a corporate environment is desirable;
  • Proven track record and significant experience in philanthropy, specifically in initiating, soliciting, stewarding, and closing significant current-use and/or deferred gifts;
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals;
  • Expertise in managing relationships with major donors and corporate partners; strong project management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills; strategic thinking abilities;
  • Deep understanding of fundraising best practices while being highly regarded and respected in the community;
  • A passion for PRIDE Industries’ mission and a demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships;
  • Experience with major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, and grant support;
  • Skilled at working across teams and with board members to achieve common goals;
  • Proven self-starter with results-oriented creativity; fosters collaboration with team members and outside partners;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience in public speaking and presentation;
  • Proficient in data-driven planning and reporting, with experience managing CRMs and tracking key performance indicators;
  • Ability to build trust, work collegially, and achieve influence with a wide range of diverse stakeholders;
  • Capacity to balance competing priorities with ease and work independently;
  • Ability to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field; a comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.

The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

  • Viewing computer screen/monitor
  • Utilizing keyboard
  • Answering phone/making calls

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise. Some travel is required. Employees may be required to work in excess of eight hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
