ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries was named the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) 2010 Agricultural Research Services (ARS) AbilityOne® Program Contractor of the Year at an Awards Ceremony held June 16, 2010 in Washington, D.C. PRIDE Industries was nominated by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Pacific West Area (PWA) Procurement Office within the USDA.

 

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) conducts an annual small business and AbilityOne® award program to recognize exemplary service to the Department. PRIDE Industries provides janitorial and grounds maintenance services for the USDA, Agricultural Research Service Agency at their Davis, CA location, and is a proud partner in the AbilityOne® Program.  The AbilityOne Program is a federal initiative to help people who are blind or have other severe disabilities find employment by working for nonprofit agencies (NPAs) that sell products and/or services to the U.S. government.

ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries, a leading employer of people with disabilities, was recently awarded the 2010 Employer of the Year Award by United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), a leading service provider and advocate for children and adults with disabilities. The award recognizes a business or voluntary agency that has made an outstanding contribution to employing people with physical disabilities or has provided training programs leading to employment and created a better working environment for people with disabilities. The award was presented Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Awards for Excellence dinner and presentation during the UCP Annual Conference in Chicago, Ill.

 

For more than 40 years, PRIDE Industries has been creating jobs for people with disabilities in its own businesses or by partnering with others in the community. Meeting the manufacturing, supply chain and facilities services needs of business and government agencies nationwide, PRIDE creates meaningful work for individuals with a wide range of disabilities. PRIDE’s unique person-centered approach to training, developing, supporting and promoting people with disabilities results in jobs for persons with significant barriers to employment.

Roseville – PRIDE Industries has established an annual $2,500 scholarship available through The University of Texas at El Paso beginning in the fall of 2010 and continuing for a minimum of four years. The scholarship program is open to students with disabilities who meet certain academic criteria and have employment aspirations that are supported by higher learning.

 

PRIDE Industries is a not-for-profit organization delivering manufacturing and service solutions to businesses and government agencies nationwide while creating meaningful jobs for people with disabilities. Through training and employment, PRIDE helps people develop the technical and work skills needed to obtain and sustain employment, become contributing members of their communities, and to live successfully independently.

 

“We are grateful that PRIDE Industries has established this annual scholarship which will provide much-needed support for the students we serve,” said Audrey Price, UTEP’s Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

 

Since Oct. 1, 2007, California-based PRIDE Industries has been providing facilities services at Fort Bliss, employing more than 140 individuals. PRIDE also maintains an Employment Services office in El Paso that provides support and placement services to people with disabilities in the community. Working in partnership with state agencies, other local nonprofits, and the business community, the company helps local individuals with disabilities overcome employment challenges and open new doors of opportunity.

 

PRIDE’s collaboration with local organizations such as the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) enables successful partnerships and programs that enhance the lives of El Pasoans living with disabilities.

Roseville – PRIDE Industries, a leading employer of people with disabilities, recently donated seven (7) wheelchair-accessible buses to a variety of organizations and entities providing services to people with disabilities, children and the elderly.  The donations were made possible as PRIDE cycled out the vehicles to accommodate new transportation equipment.

 

Recipients of the donated buses include the Fairfield-Suisun Twilight Rotary Club and the Apostolic Church of Yuba City.  Two buses were also donated to the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento to transport children to various programs and functions.

 

“We very much appreciate the generous contribution of two vans from PRIDE Industries,” said David Ballard, CEO of the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento.  “The addition of these vehicles to our fleet means we are now able to transport kids to off-grounds activities more frequently, and all as one group, which we could not do before.  This is a great boost to the programs of the Receiving Home and we are so pleased to be able to have friends such as PRIDE to help us accomplish this.”

 

“All donated vehicles are in good operating order and are being cleared to make way for newer vehicles,” said Mauro Lara, PRIDE Industries’ Vice President of Operations. “We are happy to donate these buses in order to extend much needed transportation services to underserved populations.”

Ranks #2 in Sacramento Business Journal 2009 Book of Lists

ROSEVILLE – Roseville-based PRIDE Industries ranked second on the 2009 Sacramento Business Journal Annual Book of Lists increasing in rank from 2008 and 2007. The list ranks manufacturers in the four-county metro area, including Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo counties. PRIDE Industries is a not-for-profit organization that meets the manufacturing and facilities services needs of businesses and government nationwide while fulfilling its mission to create jobs for people with disabilities.

 

PRIDE was also represented on seven other lists in the publication, including ranking 10th among medical device manufacturers in the region; ranking as the 7th largest private-sector employer in the four county metro; ranking 33rd among private companies in the region.

 

PRIDE’s CFO, Tim Yamauchi, was named the CFO of the Year in the large company category, while PRIDE’s 53.3% revenues growth from 2006 to 2008 moved it up 34 places from #74 to #40 on the fastest growing companies list.

 

PRIDE was also listed as Placer County’s seventh largest employer with 1,352 full-time workers, and number seven among the area’s electronics recyclers, processing 250 tons of electronic waste in 2008.

ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries, a Roseville based non-profit that creates jobs for people with disabilities, proudly announces a new custodial services contract with the City of Roseville. In partnership with the City, PRIDE assumes responsibility for 107,000 square feet of diverse use space, including the Downtown Library, Roseville Sports Center, Martha Riley Library, and Maidu Community Center.

 

The contract also includes custodial support at 21 Roseville Public Parks and the new Central Park Indoor Pool site, a significant new community asset which officially opened on November 1, 2009. This will create 10 new positions at PRIDE Industries, including opportunities for people with disabilities.  PRIDE’s Integrated Facilities Services division supports over 40 million square feet of government and commercial space across the United States.
