The nonprofit social enterprise is named a VETS Indexes 4 Star Employer Honoree

Roseville, Calif. — PRIDE Industries has earned the designation of VETS Indexes 4 Star Employer, as part of the 2022 VETS Indexes Employer Awards. The acknowledgement recognizes the nonprofit social enterprise’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, retaining, developing, and supporting veterans and the military-connected community.

“PRIDE Industries has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to veterans and the military community through its efforts to recruit, support, and promote those who served our country bravely,” said George Altman, managing director of VETS Indexes.

As the most objective and comprehensive evaluation of veteran employers, the VETS Indexes Employer Awards’ in-depth survey and recognition program analyzes employers’ policies, practices, and outcomes, in detail, across the following five categories:

  • Veteran job candidate recruiting and hiring
  • Veteran employee development and retention
  • Veteran-inclusive company policies and culture
  • Support for members of the National Guard and Reserves
  • Military spouse/family support

“PRIDE Industries’ VETS Indexes 4 Star Employer rating once again demonstrates our commitment to seeking and supporting veterans’ employment opportunities,” said Major General (Retired) Casey Blake, Chief Operating Officer at PRIDE Industries. “Another strong validation that we’re ‘all in’ when it comes to supporting America’s heroes and their families.”

PRIDE Industries recognizes that the experience veterans gain serving our country makes them valuable employees. The organization currently employs hundreds of veterans in all areas of the company and has provided support and services to thousands more in the form of coaching, ensuring job readiness, and providing employment placement assistance.

“VETS Indexes recognizes companies dedicated to providing employment opportunities and careers for our nation’s veteran heroes and their families,” said Frank Goehringer, Veterans Liaison at PRIDE Industries. “This award, however, really belongs to the veterans, disabled veterans, and their spouses. Veterans represent one of our nation’s richest talent pools.”

Resources for veterans include PRIDE Industries’ one-of-a-kind I AM ABLE employment helpline [(844) 426-2253], a dedicated Veterans Liaison, and a Military Skills Translator tool that helps veterans match their skills and talent to a civilian career. In addition, PRIDE Industries can help veterans access paid internships as well as mentoring and training programs. And to help other companies increase their hiring of diverse candidates, including veterans, the company provides recruiting services through its Inclusive Talent Solutions service.

“One of the best ways to help veterans is to connect them with fulfilling and meaningful careers at organizations where they can develop their skills and grow into senior leaders,” said Altman. “As a VETS Indexes 4 Star Employer, PRIDE Industries has proven to be a welcoming home for veterans and military spouses who want to start the next phases in their lives.”

Nearly 120 organizations submitted surveys to be considered for the awards, including large and small companies, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges, and universities. Of the organizations who participated in the award process, PRIDE Industries was one of only 24 to receive the VETS Indexes 4 Star Employer recognition.

Roseville, Calif. — PRIDE Industries, the nation’s leading employer of people with disabilities, has been awarded the Infor Customer Excellence Award for Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing by Infor, the industry cloud company. These annual awards recognize customers that drive innovation and showcase exceptional business results. Award winners and finalists from around the world were acknowledged during Inforum Digital, Infor’s flagship event for customers, partners, and special guests, Jan 25-26.

“To succeed in our mission to create employment for people with disabilities, we must be as competitive in price, quality, and delivery as any for-profit business,” said Alan McMillan, Chief Information Officer at PRIDE Industries. “This award is validation that we are a business-driven as well as a mission-driven company. At PRIDE Industries, we strive to benefit our customers with innovative solutions, so it is gratifying to be acknowledged for our operational and business excellence.”

The company’s IT resources are now able to execute on multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, and operational efficiency has improved considerably.

“Infor is proud to award PRIDE industries the Infor Customer Excellence Award for Aerospace and Defense,” said Infor EVP & Global Chief Customer Officer Nancy Mattenberger. “It is always great to see an existing customer recognize the wide array of advantages that come through digital transformation. We look forward to helping PRIDE Industries continue to grow while simultaneously prioritizing employee safety.”

Infor provides critical enterprise applications to 65,000 customers in more than 175 countries. For this award, a panel of Infor solution and industry experts selected customers that grew their business, improved their customer experience, and drove change in their industry. Roseville, Calif., (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized PRIDE Industries as the recipient of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Gold Award during a Veterans Day virtual ceremony presented by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Medallion Program is the only federal award that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. It was made possible by the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act), which was passed by Congress in 2017.

“PRIDE Industries is honored to be recognized as a U.S. Department of Labor HIRE Vets Medallion Gold Award recipient,” said Jeff Dern, President and CEO of PRIDE Industries. “We continue to strengthen our longstanding relationship with veterans, Wounded Warriors, and our many veteran referral partners. This award further validates our unwavering commitment to employing and assisting the men and women who have so bravely served our country.”

PRIDE Industries joins companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans and ensuring they have a long-term career plan that allows them to leverage the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria. Companies are judged by their veteran hiring and retention percentages, veteran-specific resources, leadership programming for veterans, dedicated human resource efforts, and pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.

PRIDE Industries recognizes that the experience veterans gain serving our country makes them valuable employees. The company provides job readiness, coaching, and employment placement assistance to hundreds of military veterans every year. Its many resources for veterans include a new I-AM-ABLE employment helpline [(844) 426-2253], a dedicated Veterans Liaison, and a Military Skills Translator tool that helps veterans match their skills and talent to a civilian career. In addition, PRIDE Industries can help veterans access paid internships, as well as mentoring and training programs. And to help other companies increase their hiring of diverse candidates, including veterans, last year the company launched its Inclusive Talent Solutions service.

“Veterans represent one of our nation’s richest talent groups, and this award really belongs to them,” said Dern. “These dedicated men and women not only volunteered to serve our country, but now continue to contribute by working in the civilian sector of our economy.

The nonprofit social enterprise was recognized for its exemplary inclusive hiring and employment practices

Roseville, Calif. – At the recent Annual Forum held by the National Organization on Disability (NOD), PRIDE Industries was honored as a 2021 NOD Leading Disability Employer. The award was given in recognition of PRIDE Industries’ decades-long commitment to creating employment for people with disabilities, and its success in promoting its inclusive workforce model in multiple industries.

“As the nation’s leading employer of people with disabilities, we are honored to be recognized by the National Organization on Disability,” said Jeff Dern, President and CEO of PRIDE Industries. “We have a vision to create a world where people of all abilities have equal access to employment. For more than five decades, PRIDE Industries has proven that inclusion of people with disabilities is essential to a positive workplace culture and access to a larger talent pool, which creates a more productive and engaged workforce.

Since 1966, PRIDE Industries has partnered with hundreds of customer organizations and created employment for thousands of people with disabilities. These employees perform essential functions in multiple industries. They build electronic devices and medical equipment, maintain 13,000 buildings every day, and package and ship thousands of retail products. They balance the books in finance departments, troubleshoot in IT, and contribute to all facets of a company’s operations, including leadership.

It was PRIDE Industries’ work in advancing workplace inclusion that brought it to the attention of the NOD. PRIDE Industries was recognized publicly, along with several other companies, before an audience of hundreds of diversity and inclusion leaders from global companies at NOD’s two-hour virtual Forum. Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin kicked off the event with an inspiring keynote address, while comedian, actress, and disability advocate Santina Muha served as the emcee.

In her announcement of this year’s honorees, NOD President Carol Glazer emphasized the importance of recognizing every person’s talents.

“NOD’s mission is to ensure that no ability is wasted, that all Americans, including those of us with disabilities, have an opportunity for enterprise, achievement, and earnings; and that corporate America knows how to put our talents to work,” she said. “These winning organizations have stepped up and are doing just that. We want to applaud their leadership and thank them for their commitment to hiring and retaining people with disabilities.”
