Position Summary:
Tractor Operator performs Grounds Maintenance Operations including cutting grass in landscaped and non-landscaped areas of Fort Campbell Army Base.
Location:
Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Typical Duties:
- Operates a tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, and pull objects embedded in ground
- Fasten attachments such as finish mowers and bush hogs
- Monitors and reviews equipment, structures, materials, events, and environment to detect and assess problems
- Identifies the cause and evaluates options for the best solution
- Adheres to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks
- May lubricate and make minor repairs to tractor and attachments
- Inspects tractors and equipment per company requirements to ensure proper operation and safe condition
- Where required, also performs grounds maintenance laborer duties
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience in operating tractors or similar heavy equipment
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions
- Ability to follow established safety rules applicable to tractor operators, maintain a safe environment, and adapt and respond to potentially hazardous conditions and use the appropriate PPE
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to build effective working relationships with coworkers and customers
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and common sense skills
