ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries was named a 2015 Safer Choice Partner of the Year award winner for its outstanding achievement in the development, distribution, and promotion of its PRIDEClean® products. PRIDE Industries is among 21 Safer Choice Partner of the Year award winners announced June 5, by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for 2015. To qualify for the Safer Choice (formerly “Design for the Environment”) label, a product must meet EPA’s Safer Choice Standard, which includes stringent human and environmental health criteria. The Safer Choice Program currently has nearly 500 formulator-manufacturer partners who make more than 2,000 products for both retail and institutional customers.

“PRIDE Industries’ participation in the Safer Choice Program resulted in the PRIDEClean® product line – used in our social business enterprises and distributed through others. Like most companies focused on sustainability, we feel a responsibility to our customers to use the best products possible with the safest formulas. As one of the nation’s largest nonprofit employers of people with disabilities – our responsibility is that much greater,” said Al Ahlm, PRIDEClean® Product Manager. “Our direct customers benefit knowing that their facilities are maintained with human health and safety in mind. Our business partners benefit knowing they can meet the quality and performance expectations of their customers. And our employees benefit from handling the safest products available on a daily basis. We are grateful for the partnership we have found in the Safer Choice Program – where good people can do good work together – while creating social good.”

Partner of the Year award winners represent a wide variety of leadership organizations, such as Fortune 500 companies, small and medium-sized businesses, state governments, and non-governmental organizations. The 2015 Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards will be presented during a public ceremony on June 22, 2015, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.
