ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries was honored yesterday at the 2013 Employer Awards Recognition and Seminar event, hosted by The Monterey County Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities (MCCEPD). PRIDE was recognized for outstanding achievements in hiring and retaining people with disabilities in the workforce.

 

PRIDE Industries is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating jobs for people with a wide range of disabilities. PRIDE provides a supportive environment, training, and opportunity to help people with disabilities overcome obstacles and find meaningful employment.

 

MCCEPD works to educate employers and the public on the qualifications, motivation, and commitment of people with disabilities. The all-volunteer organization is dedicated to expanding awareness of abilities instead of limitations. MCCEPD strives to maximize employee retention and workforce diversity.

 

The award recipients were nominated by members of the community. MCCEPD recognized each employer for their strong commitment and ability to successfully employ people with disabilities in Monterey County. Along with PRIDE Industries, five local companies were recognized at the event.

PRIDE Listed in Seven Categories and Ranks #4 in Manufacturing in Sacramento Business Journal 2012 Book of Lists

ROSEVILLE  – Roseville-based PRIDE Industries was ranked fourth among area manufacturers in the 2012 Sacramento Business Journal Annual Book of Lists, following only Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Aerojet.  The manufacturers list ranks the top manufacturers in the four-county metro area, including Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo counties, and is based on full time employee headcount. PRIDE provides manufacturing and facility services to the public and private sector while creating meaningful jobs for people with disabilities.  In the 2012 list, PRIDE was ranked among the region’s top employers and largest companies in seven separate categories, including the area’s largest technology companies and fastest growing companies.

 

PRIDE ranked in the top 10 (9th) among area medical-device manufacturers and was listed 21st among all technology companies.  In 2012, PRIDE invested significantly in its Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) technology and equipment.  The new EMS capabilities are designed to provide scalable solutions to customers’ needs – from prototype development to volume production, expanding PRIDE’s capabilities and enhancing its ability to create high tech jobs for people with disabilities.

 

PRIDE was again represented among the region’s fastest-growing companies, experiencing 30% revenue growth from 2009 to 2011 despite a tough economic climate.  PRIDE was also listed among the region’s top private sector employers, and the 9th largest Placer County employer with 1,021 full time workers.

Automating processes previously done manually increased operational visibility and allowed decision-makers to identify and solve problems in real time. Integrating ERP and EAM systems supported PRIDE’s overall strategies of enabling faster, easier data access for users including employees with disabilities, and decreasing internal expenses to control service costs to customers. ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries, a leading employer of people with disabilities, was recently awarded the George Washington Honor Medal, Meritorious Certificate of Honor by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. PRIDE also received a Special Congressional Certificate, presented by Congressman Tom McClintock. The awards were presented Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the 2011 Awards Luncheon in Sacramento, CA.

 

PRIDE Industries was nominated by the Sacramento Chapter of Freedoms Foundation. The National Award Program is intended to honor those whose projects, words or deed reflect the best of the American spirit of volunteerism by offering constructive solutions to contemporary problems. EL PASO – PRIDE Industries, a leading employer of people with disabilities, has been awarded the 2010 Texas Governor’s Annual Employment Award. The award highlights the efforts of employers to hire and retain employees with disabilities and to recognize best practices that positively affect employees with disabilities within the workplace. The award was presented Friday, October 1, 2010, in Nacogdoches, TX at the Annual Employment Awards Ceremony.

 

With more than 40 years of expertise in preparing people with disabilities for employment, PRIDE provides vocational training, counseling, and support to individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers. With training and supports, people with disabilities develop the technical and work skills they need to obtain and sustain employment, becoming contributing members of their communities. PRIDE recruits, employs and advances careers for people with disabilities in Texas through its Directorate of Public Works contract performing base wide facilities support services at Fort Bliss, and by partnering with state agencies and other organizations to place individuals with disabilities in community employment.

 

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Each year during the month of October, a local committee in Texas hosts the Annual Employment Awards Ceremony, where the winners in each of several categories are introduced. PRIDE Industries was honored in the Non-Profit Employer category, for fostering a diverse and accessible workplace and developing innovative ways to integrate people with disabilities into the workplace.
