Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Space Allocation Program Manager is responsible for the Space Allocation (SA) program at LA AFB. Employees in this job class track and execute SA requests, organize and lead SA Working Group and Board meetings, maintain SA records, develop SA projects, innovate SA processes and coordinate with ends users for all SA requests and activities. This job class requires knowledge of and familiarity with the USAF Space Allocation principals.

Typical Duties:
Manage Space Allocation request program used to collect and track requests ranging from office/seat assignments, manning increases/deceases, facility changes and general manpower requirements throughout the installation.
Organize and conduct meetings for the Space Allocation Working Group and Space Allocation Board. Ensure Space Allocation requests are reviewed in appropriate forum and prepare, coordinate and archive meeting minutes.
Coordinate with end users and appropriate POC’s throughout the execution of Space Allocation moves, ensuring relocation timelines, support contract requirements and project scope meet expectations.
Maintain database of total manning strength by unit/organization and develop authorized square footage requirements IAW Air Force requirements. Database must be validated annually at a minimum.
Oversee LA AFB Geobase database to ensure facility information, floor plans, occupancy data, square footage, data port information, phone jack information, owning unit and any other relevant data is collected and maintained.
Refer approved space allocation projects to engineering staff and assist with project development to ensure incorporation of requirements. Track project to completion and validate final product with initial requestor.
Publicize Space Allocation program and procedures and coordinate with appropriate organizations to maintain awareness of forthcoming actions, requests or potential changes to the installation’s manning.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience managing organizational restructure and relocation;
Experience designing and implementing programmatic elements of space allocation activities;
Demonstrated experience coordinating with leadership to accomplish strategic goals;
Ability to utilize project management software;
Basic understanding of building design and systems;
Ability to read floor plans and architectural drawings;
Ability to use CADD and GIS;
Understanding of USAF organizational structure;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
