FAQs: NASA SEWP VI
-
NASA SEWP VI (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) is the sixth iteration of NASA’s long-standing Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) for IT products and services.
It’s designed to give agencies a faster, more efficient way to buy IT, communications, cybersecurity, AV, cloud, and managed services through pre-approved contract holders.
SEWP VI will replace SEWP V, which has become one of the most heavily used IT GWACs in federal procurement history, responsible for tens of billions of dollars in spending across agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, and HHS. -
If your business interacts with federal IT, whether through hardware, software, cybersecurity, or professional services, SEWP VI is one of the most strategic vehicles to consider.
Here’s why it matters:
- Large contracts – Estimates place SEWP VI’s value around $60 billion.
- Open access – All federal agencies can order through SEWP VI.
- Streamlined acquisition – Pre-negotiated terms and a simplified ordering process speed up procurement.
- Level playing field – Multiple categories and open awards give small and mid-sized businesses a fairer path to entry.
-
The SEWP contracts are for use by NASA, all federal agencies including Department of Defense, and approved support service federal contractors. Any Government Contracting Officer or approved representative is authorized to place delivery orders against the contract. Support service contractors may be authorized by their Government Contracting Officer to purchase from the SEWP contracts on behalf of the government.

Yes. NASA has announced a delay in the release of the SEWP VI contract. While the final timeline is still being determined, federal agencies and contractors continue planning for SEWP VI as a major long‑term IT acquisition vehicle.
For prime contractors, this extended runway creates an opportunity to strengthen teaming arrangements, evaluate subcontractor capabilities, and prepare for proposal requirements. PRIDE Industries is engaging with potential partners now to support future SEWP VI task orders with proven IT, manufacturing, and operational capabilities, as well as AbilityOne expertise.
