In The Louisiana Community
PRIDE collaborates with diverse organizations and agencies to advance opportunities for Louisianans with disabilities. We are proud members of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce and the Leesville Chamber of Commerce. You will also see our Employment Services team at job and agency fairs throughout the state.
We are grateful for the partnership of the Directorate of Public Works, GSA, AbilityOne Program and NISH, one of two national, nonprofit agencies designated by the Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled to support nonprofit agencies such as PRIDE which provide employment opportunities for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities by procuring Federal contracts for goods and services.
Our work in Louisiana would not be possible without support from the Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) a state agency which assists persons with disabilities in their desire to obtain or maintain employment and/or achieve independence in their communities.
PRIDE is proud to support our troops by providing an annual scholarship to a son or daughter of military personnel, administered through the Fisher House Foundation and the scholarships for Military Children Program. Fisher House™ Foundation provides a "Home Away from Home" near military medical centers for families experiencing a personal medical crisis and is one of the premiere quality of life organizations supporting military families. The Foundation volunteered to underwrite the administration of this program.
The scholarship provides for payment of tuition, books, lab fees and room and board. Interested candidates can obtain more information or apply through the commissary at Fort Polk or at: http://www.militaryscholar.org/
