PRIDE and Granite Data Solutions
In 2012, Granite Data Solutions (GDS) partnered with PRIDE Industries for kitting, fulfillment, and distribution services. GDS was impressed by PRIDE’S low failure rate, high accuracy, and on-time delivery. When the company expanded six years later and needed on-site packaging and shipping support, they turned again to a provider they knew they could count on: PRIDE Industries.

About Granite Data Solutions
Granite Data Solutions is a California Certified Disabled Veteran Owned Enterprise (DVBE) specializing in IT deployment and integration. The company focuses on serving state and local governments, as well as schools and other public entities.
Driven by the same mission to create job opportunities for veterans and individuals with disabilities, GDS partnered with PRIDE for assembly and kitting. When they successfully grew their business operations and opened a new warehouse in early 2018, they looked to PRIDE to provide flexible staffing for daily on-site assembly, packaging, and warehouse work, and to leverage their expertise for venturing into the food processing business.
The PRIDE Solution
PRIDE presented solutions for GDS’ labor needs, including:
- Project pricing
- Project execution
After an evaluation, five Work Groups, composed of 15 employees with disabilities, were created to handle GDS’ IT-related deployment and depot-style service projects. For every Work Group hired by GDS, PRIDE provided a Work Group Trainer to help employees with developmental disabilities learn and succeed in their jobs.
With consulting help from PRIDE, GDS earned its Processed Food Registration (PFR) certification from the California Department of Health in October 2018. Instruction and training involved implementing safety, quality, and fulfillment guidelines, including proper food handling procedures, allergen separation, shipping, receiving, and lot code tracking. In addition, PRIDE helped GDS develop their pricing and shop rate, and created production lines using lean manufacturing methods.
With GDS’ new food processing business plan fully implemented, PRIDE’s Work Groups now help run up to four food-packing lines and handle shipping for four new customers.
“It’s been amazing to see what PRIDE and GDS have been able to achieve in such a short amount of time. We’re excited to see what our partnership will bring in the future.”
