Mendy is responsible for the hiring and retention of employees for the SourceAmerica/AbilityOne sites at numerous military bases across the nation, including Fort Bliss, Fort Polk, and Fort Rucker. She also oversees the recruiting and hiring of people with disabilities for various additional types of government contracts. As head of Rehabilitation Services, she manages the auditing of all of PRIDE Industries’ AbilityOne contracts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Breaking Down Barriers
Sharon Mendy joined PRIDE Industries in 1996, and has held numerous positions within the company. She’s managed the organization’s Sacramento, South Sacramento, Fairfield, and North Sacramento locations, and previously held the position of Director of Re-Entry Services. Mendy has more than 30 years of experience in developing and implementing programs for people with multiple barriers to employment, and leads a team that oversees the development, implementation, and oversight of rehabilitation programs for diverse populations.
Counselor and Friend
Mendy has a B.A. in Psychology from San Jose State University, and an M.S. in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. She serves on the board of directors of Cottage Housing, Inc., a community organization that helps homeless individuals find long-term housing solutions.
