Employment creates a foundation for self-sufficiency. Thus, it is at the center of our work at PRIDE Industries.
“I started working with PRIDE right after my grandfather died,” says Brian. “I was going through a hard time and trying to get back on my feet.”
As parents and caregivers, we want the very best for our children, including ensuring their future when we are gone.
At PRIDE Industries, individuals with disabilities can gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment with services tailored to particular needs and aspirations.
During this terrible time, Brian was referred to PRIDE Industries for an External Situational Adjustment - essentially, a trial run to determine a worker’s strengths, weaknesses, and potential.
He chose Burlington Coat Factory as it was similar to the work he performed in a previous job. Brian did very well, so much so that his job coach and the store manager encouraged him to apply for a position. He did and was hired on as a seasonal worker through the Christmas holidays. He impressed his employer so much; he was hired permanently after the holidays. Brian loves his job, and his employer raves about his work. “They helped me get a job that I really like, and to get my independence back,” Brian says.
